The Dragonhawk Mast Racer Pro tattoo machine is compact yet powerful with innovative battery placement and the option to switch between Hz and Voltage. Upgraded from the original Mast Racer, the Pro version is equipped with the MCORE Pro Motor designed to offer more consistent power, ensuring smoother and faster performance across all tattooing styles.
The battery is contained within the machine grip, allowing for a lower centre of gravity whilst improving comfort and control while working. Plus, the 1520mAh battery runs for up to 5 hours when charged with the MAST Ultra-Fast Charging Dock. 5 minutes of charging gives around 1 hour of use, with a full charge in only 40 minutes, depending on voltage or Hz.
With a 4.2mm stroke and dual smart mode, you can switch between Hz mode (3-140Hz) and DCV mode, allowing you to use the wireless machine for a range of tattoo styles and techniques, including portraits, realism, traditional, smooth linework and solid colour packing.
Hz mode allows you to maintain consistent power at any speed and syncs needle motion to hand speed. It also adjusts between soft, medium, hard, and dot mode (activated below 15hz) depending on the frequency of the machine. DCV mode (4-12V) allows you to control the machine via Voltage, offering maximum power even at low voltages.

What is really likable is the versatility and attention to detail. It has a dedicated dotwork mode that gives stippling a completely new feel and control. I use it mainly for lining, but it handles colour packing and shading just as well. The battery life is solid, charges fast with the cable, and having the spare battery means zero downtime.
Another great touch unique to Dragonhawk is that they include a leaflet with recommended voltage and Hertz settings for both modes. Almost no machine providers do this, and it shows they actually care about the craft and how artists use their tools.
Dragonhawk is definitely a company to watch. They are genuinely inventive, the engineering is smart, and their gear is far more affordable than other brands across the range. Really pleased with the purchase.
